Not a particularly serious thread, but what is the plural of Euro? (the European currency)
I would say Euros. Because I would say for example, 1 book 5 books, therefore 1 Euro 5 Euros.
Cos while I was away I heard some people saying for example 10 Euro.

In english, Euros. In French, Euro (they don't pronounce the last "s"), same with the other latin based languages like Spanish, Portuguese, Italian.
Hope this helps.0 -
It depends if these foreigners are speaking English to you or not.
If they're saying "10 Euro" it is probably because many foreigners miss out saying the "s" for things like "he playS", or "he likeS" etc.
It is EUROS, however - for us English
If you're on the continent it's correctly (in german at least) always EURO.0 -

Personally, I say 5 Euro (no s).0 -

Yes, thanks for the link.
I always say 'euros', whether I say "I'm off to get my euros for the holiday", or "A pint cost me 8 euros" or "2 euros 50 for a glass of water is a bit steep".
I do, however, say "2 pound fifty" not "2 pounds fifty", although I'd never say "it cost me 2 pound" ("it cost me 2 quid", yes, never "2 quids" - I've never wondered why).
Another weird thing - why in poker do people say "2 pair" not "2 pairs"?0 -
It depends on how I am using it in a sentence to be honest. :undecided:
"I'm off to go get some Euro's for my jollys"
"Shall we get this, its only 10 Euro."Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
I prefer pounds, shillings and pence myself
