New year big house rental

I seem to have left it a bit late to book a big house for around twenty (good mix of adults and kids) of us to celebrate the new year. Looking for something to rent four/five days but don't mind the full week.
Amazingly everything in the whole of the UK seems to be booked (credit crunch....what credit crunch??!!).
Anyone got any suggestions of where I could locate such a property please??

The popular property site, Right Move now has a "holiday letting" section they seem to have alot of properties that meet your requirments.
Good Luck!"Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone, and do not be troubled about the future, for it has yet to come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering"0 -
Where in the UK do you want to be? IIRC Helpful Holidays has some lovely looking large properties in the SW of England.0

Incapuppy....we were originally looking at Scotland but can't find anything at all there. Do you have a website addy for IIRC as we're looking at everywhere and anywhere at the mo!

I think you'll find most holidays for this period were booked in Dec 07.
I booked my half term hoiliday for May '09 in April '08 to ensure we got exactly what we wanted. So credit crunch not fully taken into account.
You'll probably find people holding off booking Summer '09 hols0 -
Try www.groupaccommodation.com,
initial search for Southern scotland 28 Dec - 2 Jan brings up these:
http://www.groupaccommodation.com/map-search_02.asp?locationId=16&proptypeId=10&startdate=28%2F12%2F2008&enddate=02%2F01%2F2009&adMax=20&bt_basicsearch=Search
Not sure how up-to-date their availability info is, but I have booked some fab properties through this site in the past. There is also a Northern scotland search option, or you can search N england or whole of UK.0 -
Thanks to all for their replies....very much appreciated. I'll get trawling!!0

We wanted a house for 14, and the prices here in the UK were really eye watering - it worked out cheaper to rent abroad somewhere near a cheap airport.
in the end some of our family decided not to come with us, so we're not going ahead this year - it's postponed till next summer now...
we're going away this Christmas though, using flyglobespan for flights and villarenters.com for a reasonably priced townhouse, and hopefully we'll catch a little bit of sunshine too, in Malaga!:DMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
