Diamond Car insurance

Options
Hope someone can help.

insurance wise .... due to us swapping cars late last year, Husbands car for some reason is in my name and my car in his, we are both named drivers on each others policy.

His car is high performance and I have no hope of him changing it, so have to accept high insurance, back in september when I renewed my policy I shopped everywhere using usual suggested places and got nothing cheaper in the hope we could both get cheaper, however with his policy up for renewal in december I have tried again and Diamond have quoted me £716.10 for the year with his no claims of 9 years fully protected. We currently use Direct line and thier renewal has arrived today at £855.75 per year, up £10 a month. so has anyone used Diamond, as this is a considerable saving for us.

thanks for reading.

Diamond is part of the admiral group (elephant, bell, admiral and diamond)

I use elephant who were by far the cheapest for me - All I would say is try the above companys aswell because if 1 quote you cheap they all probably will and you might find that 1 is a little cheaper than the others.

Hi - it's probably worth trying Liverpool Victoria who are very competitive on some performance cars buton the likes of Ferrari they have deliberately hiked their prices.

I used Diamond for a year and had no problems at all with them. As they specialise in insurance for women you may find them the cheapest of the three Admiral companies. I moved at the end of my year as Esure offerd me a lower quote.
  • Diamond's quote for my daughter was 50% higher than the Norwich Union Direct policy which she eventually took out!! If I remember correctly their's (Diamond) was the highest quote she obtained?
So shop around and don't be taken in by the "women only means cheaper" hype.
  • elephant have reduced it by a further £2, which is strange as I have my elephant quote written down and back in september they quoted £250 more than now ?

i am insured with Diamond, they are the most competitive for me (well, the same as elephant). however, i've never had to make a claim so i can't comment on their claims process.

I have heard a lot of bad things about Diamond from people I know who have used them and also in reviews. My friend summed it up by saying, "they are great as long as you never have to claim". I did get a quote from them which was £200 cheaper than everyone else, but I was too worried about their reputation to use them. Friends who have had the misfortune to have had accidents whilst being insured with Diamond have complained it takes ages to sort everything out. I need my car for work so I didn't want to take that risk.
  • I hae just (about 5 mins ago) done my car ins thru diamond. I have saved over £100 on my next cheapest quote!!!!!!!!!!! This with my accident & dh (as named driver) & his 3 points for speeding. Got for £533 for 12 months!

    How fabulous is MSE!

  • well we will have to eek together manicdays, both my husband and I have 3 points and we also had an accident claim back in Jan 2003, Direct line cant match the quote and although I have had only good service from them we afford to stay with them. fingers crossed together !!!!!!
