I was in a small village shop on an island in Cornwall this week - they had 14 different types of olives in the deli, and more in jars....

(Also 3 types of sundried toms, and 2 types of sundried peppers).

Nice to see you back, ndg! :)

So how was Cornwall? I take it you kept up to speed on the economic meltdown while you were away. Or did you (wisely?) take a break from that too?

If you peruse here, you'll find most of the news has been about which poster is really who in the complex world of multiple identities on mse, and how to correctly spell lose/loose.

    So- nothing much then.

Oh - nearly forget that world order is crashing. Oh well - not important - let's get back to that thread on nasty posters/spelling/etc etc.
  • You have well over 2,300 posts yourself, you know (-: Only a few less than !!!!!!.

True, though I did join MSE 7 months before !!!!!! did, and of course I only have the one logon ;).

I dare say if you could add up all the posts !!!!!! makes on his alternate logon, why he may even have posted more than your good self ;)

Couldn't say the 'magic' has gone out of my relationship with my 2 year old, but his conversation on house prices, frankly isn't up to scratch (even when he's not at nursery).

Strangely, I don't ring my OH up at work to discuss house prices either.

No - my OH when not at work is still magical - except for one small flaw - his fascination with house prices is not quite what it should be.;) So this place fulfils that need for me - magic complete. :)

But we're not talking about house prices at the moment are we carolt? We're actually skirting around the issue of you stepping in for !!!!!!, just as he does for you during any argie-bargie. I will have to point out to both of you two crazy kids that internet relationships are no substitute for the real thing. Yes, you're all excited now but it'll fade and I'm worried that one of you will get badly hurt.

Besides, it's not really healthy is it? !!!!!! should try and get a real girlfriend in the real world (perhaps he could use one of those speed dating things) meanwhile you should try to put more effort in with your marriage and see if you can't get the magic back?

Just a bit of advice from someone who cares for the both of you.

*DD gives !!!!!! and carolt a huge bear hug and they both agree that DD is right. "It's been fun carolt, but DD is right I need to get a life", says !!!!!! with a tear in his eye. "You take care !!!!!!, you big lug", says carol laughing and crying at the same time.*

You need to get a life, you do....

I stepped in here as I was amused by you claiming !!!!!! needed a woman in his life, when we all know you only see the woman in yours at weekends.

Plenty of people in and not in relationships post here, just the pot/kettle relationship here was the one that drew my attention and comment.

My 3 year old is taking part in the property crash. He adores building a tower (or getting some mug of a Mummy to do it for him) and then knocking it all down.

We went to a small island in the Atlantic off Cornwall. No mobile reception. Which is great, no "urgent" calls from solicitors, saying, "I know you are on holiday, but that case listed for December, can we have a quick chat about it?" Instead they got my voicemail telling them to ring my clerk (who did have the hotel number in case anything genuinely urgent came up, according to him, not the solicitors).

Didn't touch a computer. We did do a lot of swimming (in wetsuits), snorkeling, paddling, messing around in boats, walking, and eating, though. We saw some puffins, basking sharks, and lots of seals. So a good time was had by all!

Isaac, though, found the idea of an island with no cars / buses / trains very odd. "Where the cars, Mummy?"

I don't pretend to be other than a sad cow, though!

the article at the start of this thread refers to 110,000 people working in the financial services sector losing their jobs.

there seems to be some assumption here that this means they'll all be sacked from the city.

the article, however, appears to refer to the industry as a whole, so IFAs, mortgage brokers, counter staff in banks, insurance brokers / underwriters etc etc etc. as well as people working in investment banks in the city.
