Save on swim nappies

I discovered on holiday this summer that Huggies Swim Nappies dry out very quickly and can be re-used. Obviously not if they have got dirty, but if they are clean they can be rinsed in fresh water, dried and re-worn. We found that each nappy lasted about 8 trips to the pool, we had bought a pack of 16 before going on holiday and only used 4! They obviously don't advertise this fact on the packs, but not only will it save you money, but the environment too!

You can get reusable swim nappies which are cheaper yet, and you can get them in all sizes right up to secondary school age if your child has continence issues and needs them. You just throw them in your washing machine with the swimsuit. I first bought them in Mothercare I think then as my kids got older got the bigger sizes online. Google Aquanappies or there is a good online site for all swimwear for kids called incywincy where you can buy online.
  • I used the reusable ones for my daughter and they were fine, but my son seems to not be the right proportion to fit the ones I've tried...biggish legs, small bottom! But yes, you're right they are obviously much better if you can get them to fit properly.

They come in different styles. There are the aquanappies which are like pants and may not fit big legs and small bottoms, and there are also some which have velcro on the sides so the waist and bottom can be nipped in tighter. These were awful on my daughter but might work for your son?
