Tesco Opticians - Contact Lenses

I have been trying to obtain contact lenses from Tesco, using the online ordering from their Tesco Extra website. I understand that ones eyes are important, their health is important and the need for check-ups etc to ensure that the prescription is correct and that there are no reasons why you shouldn't get the lenses you want.
I accept that I have to get a prescription.
I got a prescription on Friday 18th November, valid until 18th November 2006.
When I try to order a 12 month supply from Tesco (on Saturday 19th November), and put in the expiry date of 18/11/06 - Uh errrr - computer says no. "You are trying to order for a period that exceeds your prescription". Yes, I know - but by 1 ******* day! OK - so I phone them up and tell them and they say, "yes, we know, there is a problem with the system". Right, so what are you going to do ? "er, well, you can order 11 months and then get 1 month's worth somewhere else" Is that all you can suggest ? "Yes"
So I changed the expiry date on my order to 19/11/06 - and now I have had an e-mail saying it does not match the prescription held by my optician.
This appears to me to be typical laziness and incomptence and / or an effort to extort money from people who are now forced to pay for ever more frequent eye-test and eye-care appointments.
Right, I 'm off to find the cheapest site possible to get my lenses. I don't care if it's overseas and unregulated I don't want the money-grabbing B*****s over here having any more of my cash. Otherwise it's back to the "Viz" tip - little bits of cling film.
