M&S charges and mail-shots

in Credit cards
Two years ago I ordered some foreign cash on my M&S-CC. I thoughtfully paid money into the account in advance, to cover this cost, as I would be away when the bill was due. I was charged a (foreign) cash advance fee for the currency. I always thought that a cash advance fee was charged to stop people paying a credit card bill with cash obtained from that credit card (i.e. and forever never pay any interest).
I queried this with M&S Money, by letter and telephone, and was directed to a specific clause in their terms and conditions stating that a fee would be charged for foreign currency. I therefore rested my case.
I cancelled the C-card and asked them to remove my name from their mailing list. I have had to telephone several times to stop the mailings, and they did stop for about twelve months. But today I have just received another mail-shot for home insurance. I have telephoned several numbers and got nowhere with the 'indian' call-centre ("you can just bin the mail-shot").
Two questions: how do I stop the mailing, and should I have been charged for the foreign cash-advancewhen my account was in credit?

I presume you looked for this and found it?…and was directed to a specific clause in their terms and conditions stating that a fee would be charged for foreign currency
I sympathise with you as regards stopping mailings. We have lived at our current address for ages and wanted to cut down all the mailings for when we move house. Most companies have been professional and ceased the mailings, but some just will not stop.
Reader’s Digest appeared to be very positive when my wife said ‘please stop telling me I may have won £££££s whatever on a regular basis’. They actually apologised, and clearly stated ‘details removed’. However they have now started mailing again.
Jean-Patrique (one of the UK's favourite cookware suppliers apparently) have ignored my three requests to stop sending their full colour glossy brochures.
These people are wasting money and the world’s natural resources.
With all the emphasis on recycling and saving the planet nowadays, I do wonder what the effect would be if all this unnecessary mail was magically stopped tomorrow. At least one rainforest would breathe a sigh of relief I suspect…0
