HBOS/Lloyds TSB merging

Whilst the Halifax ads are definitely annoying, the LTSB music is equally so, especially when sung ad infinitum in a squeaky voice by my daughter. Drat, and now I have it in my head again, just thinking about it. I'd better go and put some of my son's thrash metal on to chase it away...
What if Howard got the gig to sing the LTSB tune?!?!?:eek:0 -
I am looking for suggestions on best way to purchase shares please.
Think I might go some HBOS - what do you think??
Thanks

Think you are much too late Carol. The price they are trading at currently anticipates a take over. Time to buy would have nine o'clock this morning when they were trading at less than a pound - I tried, but HBOS share dealing has been down for the last 24 hours.
I'm with cheerfulcat - Lloyds and HBOS should both have had trading suspended.0 -
Heard this from a guy at work...
The new name for the Lloyds TSB & HBOS Merger...

Of course they could just let the bank go under and all the staff would lose their jobs and people with money invested/saved etc be put into turmoil for a period..... But if we need to do things by the book.....

dun they wont be merging your bank accounts,
i wouldnt be suprised if they dont leave the hbos branches the same and just change the parent company
when halifax bouht bank of scotland they did not change the names to hbos
It was the other way round Bank Of Scotland bought Halifax.
I remember the Bank of Scotland branches here in edinburgh getting the names changed to include Halifax logo and name in small.
I like the others are surprised that the govt. will allow it and in fact push it through. Two Pound Coin Savings club - Started 11/2/06 - £550 banked so far :T0 -
rattla, the takeover should have proceeded in the correct fashion. That includes using RNS, not the BBC, to put out announcements. This is just a shambles.0

Working on the basis that HBOS went under and wasn't bought out (won't happen, but humour me!), what would happen to those with mortgages, would they still owe, or would it be wrote off and everyone goes party!!!0
