I have money tied up in ISAs with Halifax (albeit at a bad rate lol)... while worried am not rushing to try and withdraw it.0

HBOS look likely to merge with Lloyds, as Jim Bowen would say "The Moneys safe"0

Yea... the share price is now replicating that statement... as its now positive gains!. Pheww...
Lloyds Isas are same rate as Halifax ISAs anyways.0 -

Typical irrational panicking of the sort that brought down the Rock. People hear of a falling share price and think "oh no! I must sever all ties with the bank immediately, even though I don't know anything about how the banking system and stock markets work".
When a bank fails, it is savers who have to worry. Halifax are doing fine.0 -
Although I would be slightly worried if I banked with them, as long as you have less than 35k in the bank, it should be safe. So it would be irrational worry really!0

They would never have been allowed to fail, so the worst case scenario would be that they'd become like N'Wreck. My money is where my mouth is by the way. Had I moved it, I'd have lost about a week's interest.0
