Sending money to US

Hi,

I need to send money(around 1500 pounds) to my friend who is living in US. Can anyone suggest me a cheap and quick way of sending/transferring money to US?

If you search the forums, there is quite a bit of discussion on sending money abroad.

I am presently experimenting with moneybookers because their rates & charges look quite attractive.

They don't appear to be awfully fast, though - loading the money takes 4+ days, and then transferring it to the recipient can again take several days.
