Am looking to go away for 1 or 2 weeks from Jan 10th onwards.
Want to escape the winter cold for a while and go somewhere that is hot.
However budget is £500 and want at least 4 star Hotel.
Already been to egypt and although spain and greece are probably not hot anyway I dont want to go here either.
Anyone know of any good deals?
Dubai, Far east or Australia sound good but cant seem to find one for under £500.
Thanks

You should be able to get a good deal, that is low season.
Where do you want to fly from? Do you want half board or just the room?
I suggest Goa or the Gambia.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Gambia is probably the warmest place, but IMO it is the pits.
1/2 weeks in a 4* hotel and long haul flight for £500 will be difficult.
You might get a flight to Bangkok and find your own accomodation for close to that.0 -
have a look at http://www.kuoni.co.uk/ and choose the late deals they often have 8-10 days to the far east for around £500
Also check out travelmood they had Singapore/ Bali for just alittle over your budget.
The other is Dom Rep you will get 1 week in a 4* for that but 2 weeks you would probably have to wait right upto departure date.

North Africa in January can get quite cool - especially at night.0 -
Have decided that Malaysia for 12 will be good.
Prob 1 week at Penang (for the beach) and 1 week at Kuala Lumpur (for the city experience).
Can get hotels for approx £32 per night which for 10 nights = £320.
Flights however are approx £500-600 (including penang to Kuala Lumpur).
Therefore holiday will be £900 at present.
Am flying from London so does anyone know of any bargains currently on available for Malaysia?
Thanks
Would prefer the £700 flight + hotels bracket if possible. Not fussed about half board etc.0 -

If you can get can get separate flights you can cut the cost (maybe Emirates with the Dubai stopover?)
AirAsia go to Penang from KL and if you book now you can do it for the grand total of £9.67 return including taxes. (7th - 14th Jan). Think it allows for 15kg baggage then you pay extra.
I'm doing a similar same trip on 1st Jan til 20th. Not booked hotels yet, but KL seems very cheap because of the competition. The Renaissance does good "room" deals (Renaissance Wing, not New World wing which is a bit tattier). https://www.marriott.co.uk .
Am going to be staying at the Holiday Inn in Penang, seems a good price and it's right in the middle of the Batu Ferringhi beach area. There are a few better hotels but they're pricier.0 -
