RBS overdraft concern

Apologies to those sick of my overdraft worries...

OK, finally got my overdraft arranged on Monday, and I was told that it would be activated at midnight that night. Now, I read somewhere here that it would show up in my 'available balance' on my online banking, all I'm reading there is "Current balance: £0.84 Available Balance £0.84"

I'm in need of some cash, but I'm a bit worried about taking any out lest I get a massive charge slapped on me.

Should it be showing there? Is that just the case with another particular bank, or should it show in my RBS account? Will it show when I do go under 0?

Thanks in advance! I'm just worried about paying out unnecessarilly, as you can see, I can't really afford to at the moment.

  • Hiya, I'm no expert but it looks like its not active yet as your 'available balance' would include overdraft amount e.g. if your o/d was 500 quid your available balance would be £500.84...thats how it is on both of mine. I'd give them a call or go into a branch as if its been agreed but not setup you may still be able to get at the cash (or write a cheque to cash...?)

Thanks Randomguy that's what I thought.

I just don't see why everything has to be such a nightmare!
