Hi i was recommended by a very nice lady from DFS to use a mixture of warm water and Lux flakes! As i cant seem to find any in my area, im now using soap flakes and warm water.
You just mix it in a washing up bowl, wash the suite down with it first, then go over it straight away with a warm wet cloth, as ive found the soap flakes can leave it a tad sticky. Then dry off with a towel.
It works a treat and my sofa looks lovely afterwards!! Can be used on all leather suites too.
Your local supermarket stocks the soap flakes or Boots does them.

Yes this is what we've been told to do.
Small change can often be found under seat cushions.

    Hi
what do you feed your suite with? when we got our suite last year (DFS) we were given a liquid to mix with water to clean it with but I have noticed due to the central heating beeing on over the winter that it has started to dry out, should I use some saddle soap or something else??

This is probably a really dumb question but I want to buy saddle soap for my leather chairs. Do I have to go to a riding shop or can I buy it somewhere else? (Told you it was dumb!)
  • I clean mine with a packet of Gumption from Home Bargains. It's a packet of 20 disposable wipes & is suppose to clean, shine and feed the leather. It's only 99p & really gets the dirt out. HTH

  • I buy my saddle soap from a little shoe repair shop, you know the type that cuts keys, fixes heels on shoes etc
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

I'd be careful using baby wipes. My wife used them on the arms of our new suite and it took the colour off.

Fortunately DFS agreed to replace it as it was only 9 months old.

Needless to say we neglected to say we had been using baby wipes on it.....naughty I know.
