SKY+ & MULTIROOM

As an existing customer i purchased Sky+ for £49 and multiroom for £10 a month;no probs there.
Come the install, the engineer informed me that they would be using my old box for the extra room.No prob, because it is a new 12 month contract, the system will be guaranteed for a further 12 months.(the sky sales guy told me this when i ordered).
I double checked, and after 40 mins on 0870,I was informed that this only applies to new customers.
After arguing my case,i was told "thats the deal, take it or leave it".
I cant believe skys attitude, has anyone else had this problem??.
A new customer would have paid the same, but would have brand new equipment, surely if i have already purchased the old box through the original deal, its my property,so how can sky charge £10 a month to use MY equipment????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Don't talk to me about Sky!
I ordered Sky + and multiroom. On the arranged day, they didnt turn up, after half an hour on the 0870 tel no. they told me that it had been cancelled because I was moving house!!! (news to me!). I then spent most of the day on the phone trying to re-arrange.
Next appt. the engineer turned up and said that because the multiroom was going in our daughters loft room it was a two man job (even though I had already given them the location). After an hour on the phone trying to persuade them to do the Sky+ and do the multiroom later, that is me AND the engineer on seperate phones, they refused, even though he was willing to do the job!
So another date is booked for first week in December, would tell them to stick it if we were not so keen on the idea of Sky+ as we both work shifts and the kids are looking forward to it.
They have NO idea how to treat their existing customers decently and only hope other people will take heed, or am I just UNLUCKY???0 -
look in the other forums for how to 'argue' with sky, i followed their advice & was offered a skyplus box for £60, but without having to pay the £10pm cost ever!, i am an existing customer & told them it was cheaper for me to get a dvd recorder & a freeview box with the amount of repeats in sky & also was angry how all new customers get all the best deals etc etc, sorry am babbling!!!!, but goodluck
