Signed up this afternoon **** easy to open, account up and running tomorrow, taken all bar 35K out of B & B to leave with the Rock until this mess gets sortedLiquidity is when you look at your investment portfolio and **** your pants0

It pays 0.53% less than Birmingham Midshires, an amount you may consider piffling in the current climate. I opened 2 accounts (one for me & one for 'her indoors') with Rock, just for a situation like the one we are in now.
I find their web site very easy to use too.0 -
Yeah, no problems here, just don't like funding the govenment though

The husband recently opened up an esaver with Northern Rock, didn't take long to open at all and there's been no problems so far. Website looks easy to use as well. I'm actually considering opening an account too for my Christmas 2009 fund :beer:0

I just did a test transfer from my nominated account into the Northern Rock 5 mins ago and hey presto its in the account, a damn sight faster than the B & B which takes 4/5 working days to transfer, very impressedLiquidity is when you look at your investment portfolio and **** your pants0

What's your nominated account? you need both parties to be involved in this fast transfer process to work.0 -
I have cash in this account, the only problem is the maximum limit of £250k. As this is one of the safest banks with the government backing a higher limit would have been appreciated.Change is here to stay0

My nominated account is one on the high street, don't understand the point you are making. I have transfered a small amount from my nomintared account into my Northern Rock E-saver and its in immediately!Liquidity is when you look at your investment portfolio and **** your pants0 -

He/she means it was very fast. Not all banks/building societies have been able to transfer money through Faster Payments. It can take days.
Edit: I sent £10k to my NR account this morning, but it isn't there yet!0
