LOL any way back on topic

If its like my Samsung last years model (Oct 07) you need to press the dmenu about 2/3 down the remote near centre buttons

    Samsung TV's have two menus

    Menu and D Menu.

There is a TV / DTV buttom to switch between Analogue and Freeview.

    Press DTV then DMENU,
There is an option which retunes retuned all channels.

I'm having issues with MSE too tonight, though I do from time to time.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

Hi all you techy folk......this is a total techno phobe asking what you might think is a daft Q.

Just bought a Samsung 40 HD LCD and the picture isn't that sharp ? I have my SKY Plus box and my DVD player connected. Should I buy an HDMI cable to sort out the picture ?

Any help will be most appreciated

    Regards,
    Candlequeen

p.s. If you need any hints or tips on candles I'm the person to ask :j

Most tvs when bought are set up 'wrong'
Try and get a hold of a THX disc (Star wars, terminator 2 etc). Switch off ALL the fancy things you can to do with the picture (every tv has different names for them and my Pioneer has TONS of things that needed switching off). Use the THX menu to set up Contrast, Brightness and Sharpness (Need to connect via scart cable for that though). Then set colour as high as you can so that skin tones look 'right' and not red or orange.

If your dvd player has one then connect via a HDMI lead. If you have an UPSCALING dvd player its down to what screen resolution your tv is as to wether it will look better or not.

Another thing you might want to try is a 'mains conditioner' such as this one ~
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=46830&doy=16m9&C=SO&U=strat15

This filters out 'mains noise' and should sharpen up your picture

Any questions feel free to ask
