AIG travel insurance

My boyfriend is due to fly over to Ireland to see me on Friday (he's from the US), his travel cover is through AIG and i'm worrying about the effect of AIG and their financial trouble at the moment. If they go bankrupt while he's here, will he still be covered or will the policy be void? I can't find anything in his policy documents that will give me the answer to this and I was hoping that one of you may be able to shed some light
