Adding colour to a B/W jpeg?

Has anyone come across any handy software for doing this?

I have Adobe Photoshop CS2 but not sure I'll have time to sit and work through the layers before this weekend. Obviously not wanting to spend any money on more software.

You have the best software there is for image editing!

But adding colour to a B+W JPEG is like the Q, "how long is a piece of string".

    Need much more detail.

Do you mean you have a greyscale image, with which you'd like to duotone, sepia etc?

Do you have a logo file on which you have parts you'd like to change colour?

If the latter, make a selection or mask, then use the Hue / Saturation dialog to change the colour (ensure you convert the image to at least 8-bit colour first from the Image menu).

Millions of options, depending on what you want to do.
  • Last time i tried this using photoshop i just ending up using lots of layers of gradient maps and colour balance etc all cut up (masked) to different sections of the photograph. worked reasonably well. I don't know of any software to do it for you try google possibly??
