Please help with Mozilla Thunderbird

I have recently converted from outlook express to thunderbird as I was having lots of problem, now I have problems again, went out this morning and thunderbird was fine, I have come back now to find that I need to start all over again with a new user!!! Thus I am going to loss all my emails - great!! So I have been through to my broadband operator who has given me all the information I need, so I have been through the new user process to find that when I enter my password it is now coming up "sending password did not succeed. mail server did not respond , could not determine server" could someone help, its just that I am getting really fed up!!!:eek:

you need to go back and double check you have entered all details correctly, typical error is typing mailserver as mail@yourisp.com whereas it's mail.yourisp.com
also google "mozbackup" its a free and easy utility for backing up your mozilla profile incl emails saved passwords form details etc, though sometimes it the av software scanning the mail that causes the profile lockout (esp on a quick close and reopen scenario)and a simple reboot will cure it
