Your not a one legged banker are you
Control is an illusion, chaos is the reality. A successful warrior dances with chaos, and success means simply that one is still alive.

IMHO the political question is whether Clown arranges for HBOS investors to lose everything, but depositors are OK by "doing another Crock".

We know the son-of-the-manse still burns with class-hatred after listening to sermons about the evils of the rich-man up the big hoose, ye ken. Hoots! But does he care for the effect on the millions of small invesors who have kept their shares from the Halifax privitisation?

Shareholders are shareholders, whether big or small and however they got their shares. They share the risks of the business as well as the rewards, to suggest that shareholders should somehow be protected by government if the business fails is a misunderstanding of how capitalism works. The effect on the millions of small shareholders is something HBOS management should have considered when devising their business strategy. Its not Brown's concern.
On the other hand it is quite right that DEPOSITORS should be protected.

Could we now be seeing the start of a run on HBOS? Let's hope that they drop out of the headlines tomorrow or we may have a problem.......

Clown had a policy of creating an asset bubble in the SE housing market, and while everyone felt wealthy, channelled uncounted ££ billions to the traditional Labour heartlands in Wales, Scotland, the NE. He needed the asset bubble to be a diversion while he implemented the usual Labour policy of squandering taxation from the productive sector on the wastrels.

Crash Gordon is directly responsible for the shambles we are now in. Over a decade he controlled fiscal policy, regulatory framework, created perverse incentives by a massive increase in tax-law and, of course, relied on financial wheezes for his own off-balance sheet accounting of the public finances.

I really would like to agree with you, as I can't stand the fellow. And I am sure he has not helped the UK situation. But the madness seems to have been worldwide, and as this unfolds it looks more and more like a global problem. What on earth were the banks playing at?

I don't think Brown is allowed to be responsible for his own bowel movements, too risky.

I'm watching this very carefully. I pay alot of bills through my current account and I also receive my wages in HBOS which can't be changed quickly.

Shall try to keep a minimum living amount in and see how fast I can get the savings I have with them out and into nsandi should TSHTF.

Think posters on here and savings board were saying it takes 5 days for money to clear out of HBOS..
Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.
  • I've just cleared out my BOS savings account via CHAPS (£25 fee) using telephone banking and have been told it will be in my other account tomorrow. Otherwise it would have taken until Monday!

    I have a simple guide.

Do HBOS sponsor any football clubs?

I'm sorry to be so clueless, but do they?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
