Does it just restart or does a blue screen with a message appear first? What operating system are you using, xp or vista?Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0

Probably the most common cause of these symptoms is overheating - usually caused either by fan failure or dust build-up inside.
Have you checked that all fans are running ok, and that the insides aren't dust-covered?
Having said that, if Avast found a virus and you aren't sure that it has been removed, it could of course be that - in which case you'll probably want to follow the malware removal guides in the stickies at the top of this board.0 -

There was a couple of clicking noises coming from the fan area, I've never took the back of it to dust! Avast is running now and Superantispyware.0 -
No virus found and just the usual on superantispyware, had hoovered back of fan, hope that helps!0

To check your software is ok, open My Computer, rightclick C: and select properties, then 'Tools' tab. Run the errorchecking there to start chkdsk on restart.Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0
