AIG-backed ETF Securities products plummet

Shares in AIG-backed exchange traded commodities issued by ETF Securities (ETFS) have plummeted after the US insurer was hit by a rash of fresh ratings downgrades yesterday.
If AIG can't meet its obligations to ETFS Commodity Securities Limited then are investors eligible for any compensation?

If you have bought an ETF(C) then you have a Counterparty risk with the Issuer of that ETF.
I assume that when you trade in ETF's you will be considered an 'Investment Professional' under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0
