o2 Broadband wireless router

Don't know if this is a silly question but I took out o2 broadband last year and no longer use their service. I still have the wireless router i received when I first took it out and wondered if anyone knew if i could use this wireless router for another service providers service?

yes but the o2 one is wireless, not all ISP provide you with a wireless router

I dont know at the moment as the router is at home and i'm at work.

Will the router be customised to o2 broadband or will it work on an ordinary connection (ie: bt openworld)

O2 routers are configured with thier own firmware and are set up to connect only to
O2 servers.

The router is the property of O2 it is only on loan to you and they can ask for it back at any time
any time.

To get the router to work with another ISP you would have to replace the firmware
with the latest from Speedtouch for your model of router and that could result in
O2 charging you the full retail cost if they reclaim it as you have modified it .
