  • My friend I have exactly the same problem with the Halifax although the whole of my debt to them was made up of these illegal charges they sold the debt on.But thanks to this site although I approached them and they offerred only £208 of £876 they insist on paying into the card account which is closed.I want the lot as I am disabled and will not be able to work again.
I believe I have read in the past that you can be paid directly by cheque ,but this is hidden in the archives of this site.
It surely is not your fault or mine that because of these charges you defaulted ,yet people seem to think it is banks money you defaulted on.If they write it off to themselves then it costs them nothing. They should be punished because what they did by their charges caused the problem.
  • I don't usually side with Leeds fans :p , but on this occassion I will!!
Yeah, well my total amount inc. interest totalled just over £900.
the difference between £12 and the £30 they charged (then later £20) totals £290.
    They've offered me this difference.

Total default amount is £550ish, and I only had a £200 limit. The last purchase/use of this card took my balance to £176. So the additional £400 is made up purely of charges.

Meaning I defaulted as a result of unfair charges.

Like I say, 6 years is up in March 09, so just gonna leave it til then. I'm sure by reclaiming charges I am acknowledging the debt though, but will deal with that in March when I write to Lowell.

    Cheers
  • As a Yorkshireman you must realise that financially we suffer no fools.
Actually I was born in Leeds and now live in Selby. The LUFC refers to Leeds University former chancellors, but I do follow Leeds for my sins.Worked at Terry's for 22 years so do like York as well.
    Good luck!
