I've got another cat that I called 'bat', because his ears were so disproportionate it made him look like....... a bat.
My cats, acquired as abandoned kittens 4.5 years ago, were Elijah and Yossie. Elijah is no longer with us, and Yossie's moved to my parents' place....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

I don't care what she looks like. I don't care if she makes really bad TV. I do care that she thinks she knows what she's talking about....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Kirsty and Phil were simply presenting a TV programme - for POTS of DOSH. YOU'D all do it given half the chance - and you know that's true!
It's so incredibly naive of you all to blame them for misleading people; they're just presenters of a TV show. They probably have no more clue about the property market than Joe Bloggs down the road.
They're TOLD what to say!
I suppose you all think too that the so-called chefs' on Ready Steady Cook don't actually know what they're going to cook until they open the carrier bag?!:rotfl:
FGS!!! It's entertainment for the naive. Please!!!!!!!:rotfl:0 -
Nah, Entertainment for the naive is my new game show :-
"How many toys can you kick off the lawn of this repo'ed house?"
The theme is a newly repo'd house, still with the kids toys in the garden and the contestants have one minute to see who can kick the most toys into a skip. Whoever kicks the highest value of toys (based upon credit card debt incurred at the highest rate) wins the chance to offer less than half of what the house was last sold for, and they also get the chance to serve court papers to the previous owner in 12 years time for the amount of negative equity involved.0 -

I agree that they do not take the whole blame, alone. Its about the whole confidence bubble.
If an Estate Agent is having a tough time convincing the buyer to offer a bit more, it helps his case if he can say ;
"look, its not just me saying so, its not just the market, its on TV presented by "independent people who help buyers" who are having to recommend asking price offers to secure their property"
Like it or not our population is not the sharpest on the planet, as some insightful person wrote on here, at least 50% are average or worse!
It then becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy that the market heads up and buyers feel they have to rush to make an asking price offer before the market moves ahead further...0 -
apparently their next series will be filmed at various camp sites0

apparently their next series will be filmed at various 'camp' sites
Yeah, I heard that they'll be on Sky, sponsored from now on by the Sunday Sport and that we shall see a completely new side to them. In fact a little dickie bird told me this would be their first venue:
