Just been rejected for a Halifax card. The letter said that it had nothing to do with anythjing adverse on my credit rating. This seems to imply that they just don't want me as a customer because of my rate tart behaviour! I have recently got my experion report, so know that my credit history is perfect!
I have had 3 0% cards this year (have closed the one that not using), and wonder whether this is why I was rejected - because they knew they wouldn't make any money from me? I also got rejected for Lloyds TSB a few weeks ago (I have one card for balance tfers and one for purchases). Never been rejected before, and have good salary etc, so seems odd.. Anyway, prob for the best as have decided to not have credit cards for now. I was just interested to know whether this has happened to anyone else?

A few thoughts...
1. Do you have another Halifax card currently - check https://www.stoozing.com/cards.htm
2. You've closed cards recently. Have you confirmed that they are "settled" with the CRA's?
3. LloydsTSB rejections are commonplace. Have they invited you to appeal?
4. Nobody has a "perfect" credit history!0 -
Thanks for your comments,
1. don't have any other halifax cards, and have never applied for anything with them before
2. Have confirmed that the ones I closed are settled.
3. At least I'm not the only one!! Didn't offer me chance to appeal tho
4. Well... couldn't see anything bad on my hostory!! Maybe from bank PoV they're not going to make any money out of me!!0 -
Its getting hard to keep changing cards (to be a tart)
Recent experiences
1. Given very little credit limit by egg and barclays. (3000 and 2500)
2. Refusal by mint to give a card.
(these have nothing to do with my credit file or income..I know that quite well..when I asked why it was denied and they said it is probably due to being a tart!)
But MBNA was good though..£15000, transferred it to my bank account.
This is just to give an indication for tarts re who is hard and who is good if you change cards frequently.0 -
