getting a new white suite soon and deciding on the tiles, they will cover approx 1/3 of the room around the bath and shower. the rest of the room will be painted a warm but light colour to contrast with the white tiles and suite.
what do you reckon about the type of white tiles? i think i prefer the 20 x 25 size ones instead of the square 15 x 15 value type. wickes do glossy or bumpy, but b and q do a matt finish one. its hard to tell what it will look like finished, so was wondering if anyone here has any tips?

I would go for gloss - they would bounce the light and it would look brighter. Wouldn't get bumpy one as if you wanted to attach any suction thingies ( even a small sponge or a toy for a child, it would be impossible. And the matt ones might just look like they have soap scum all over them and I would want to scrub them, all the time. Less light as well...
That is my opinion only....Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
No to the matt, might not look clean as ginvzt suggested
But would the plain gloss look a touch 'public loo'
My choice the texture finish ..... kids too old for toys!0 -

definitely don't have matt ones - i did and they never looked clean - just replaced them all with plain glossy ones (value ones) - look nice and shiny. would agree with the brick style ones though - what i would have if i had the money!!0

we got slightly bumpy ones because our bathroom walls were like the waves of the ocean and they helped to disguise it a little.4.30: conduct pigeon orchestra...0

We have a tiny ensuite and tiled the whole thing in white, floor to ceiling. Went for big gloss tiles with a slight ripple. Looks good IMHO!0

We've got glossy tiles in kitchen and bathroom. In the kitchen approx 10cm square ones mainly cream but some coloured. A lot of the coloure ones have crazed. In the bathroom they are large (30 x 20 maybe) and we have a listel border. Again, over time, the border tiles have crazed. None of the tiles were cheapies.
We will be tiling kitchen/bathroom/utility in the house we are buying and we've vowed not to have glossy again.
My son has matt white tiles in his bathroom with a white/greyish blue listel border and they look lovely.0
