Paypal Account Funding Query

I purchased an item on Ebay on 5th September and paid straight away with Paypal. My Paypal transactions are funded from my current account. I received the item a few days later. All well and good. However, the money has still not left my current account (nor is pending) 11 days later. I've checked my Paypal account and everything seems to be fine. Is this sort of delay normal? Are transactions batch-processed on a certain day or something?

I know it's possible for bank funded payments to fail after the item has been received - it happened to me.

Have you got another recent transaction that you could compare dates for, ie., date payment made vs. date payment left bank account?

I've had this happen before. When Sellers recieve payments from buyers they have to confirm it in Paypal. I guess some Sellers (the ones who are selling regularly) wait and confirm, say, a month's worth of payments together. So even though you've paid and confirmed that you can pay from your current account, the seller has the payment 'waiting' in his/her paypal account to be accepted/confirmed.
Unless the seller contacts you about it, I wouldn't worry.

The seller is a high-volume retailer so you're probably right. I shall stop worrying about it!

Typically, after posting on here I've just checked my emails again and there are three from Paypal saying:

1) The bank is disputing the Direct Debit Instruction (DDI).
2) There was a bank processing error.
3) Your bank has declined the funds transfer.

So I'm really no clearer on what the problem is! Paypal have removed the bank account from my Paypal account which is a bit of a pain as I presume it means I also can't now transfer my funds from Paypal into it.

I think in these cases you're meant to take it up with your bank. Funny how this happens fairly often with paypal... but it's always the bank's fault!

Yep, that's what they said. :rolleyes:

They took payment from my registered credit card instead so at least it's paid for and nobody's going to come after me with a big stick.
