Hello,
I'm not very savvy with the PC and I've just had the McAfee pop up come up with a red box regarding a Generic Pup.x in the following file c:\Program Files\orange3\orange3.dll
It's giving me the options to remove it, trust it or close alert.
I do have the orange livebox so I don't know if it's something to do with that and I'm really needing some advice on what to do next with this.
Many thanks in advance.

It could be a false positive kicked up by McAfee. the .dll i would be needed by your net connection (confirmation needed).
It might be worth doing a scan with an online virus checker ect. (sorry dont have them, but there are some links knocking about on the boards)
seems its a trojan

Thanks for that. I'd closed the alert box, hope it pops up again so I can remove it!

it you do and it corrupts your .dll you should be able to reinstall it from the CD you got from orange."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

[STRIKE]Might leave it for OH to do then.[/STRIKE]
I've just completed manual scan and it gave option to remove, so I have. The warning was only happening on IE (which has the orange home page) and not when I connected to FF....not sure if that means anything but fingers crossed problem solved.
Thanks for your help

Presumably its in a 'VIRUS VAULT'? It should be so that if you DO have any problems you can put it back where it came from.:idea:0
