3 I want to remove GAIN program from Add/Remove programs but i cant do it.
I have Nortan Anti Virus and Avg softwares.
Can anyone please help me out?
Thanks in advance.....

Be aware that you will have "System Restore" turned on by default with your laptop. So you will need to Right Click, MyComputer select Properties, select the SystemRestore Tab and Click on "Turn Off System Restore". Then run the various programs listed.
Heres a good page here for uninstalling GATOR products. Just click the appropriate link to the software that you installed, which also installed the GATOR product.
Symatech make a GATOR removal tool here which should work, but it has a date of 2003 and GATOR are notorious for keeping their product "updated" so it may not help. But worth trying it if nothing else.
If none of the above work, then it maybe easier to go download, install and update:
Spybot Search & Destroy:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/
AdAware:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
Both are freeware applictions. Let them remove what they have too in relation to GATOR and reboot your computer. Then simply go into Windows Explorer and Delete the Gator product folder. Turn on System restore and you should be back to where you started.
All of the above assumes you have work on your laptop that you cannot backup. If you can back your work, email contacts etc up. It maybe easier just to use the System Restore Disk that came with your Dell laptop to put it back into the state in which Dell delivered it to you.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
download microsoft anti spyware
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=321cd7a2-6a57-4c57-a8bd-dbf62eda9671&displaylang=en
and run in safe mode
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406?OpenDocument&src=sec_doc_nam
if they keep coming back then you may need to turn off system restore and repeat the above..
while in safe mode run the other 2 above as well !Ex forum ambassador

this is a known problem,
i presume you have a little gearstick in the middle of the keyboard for the mouse as well as a mouse pad, the laptop (from work) i had before the current one, was also a dell latitude, it had a problem with the gearstick taking a life of its own, this caused the mouse to move across the screen at different speeds and times of the day....... the way we solved it was to disconnect the gearstick (as shown to us by a Dell engineer who was sick of being called out to fix the same problems.......
I would suggest you raise it with whoever you purchased it from, try checking for the same problem on the web, i am sure it is listed on there somewheresmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

If you have Norton that isnt working remove it,, if you want to buy it again
remove AVG... Its upto you but as being a Money Saving site I would remove it, and Keep AVG
Also it hogs the coputers system resources......
