hiya i wonder if anyone can help im writing this for my daughter and her partner
They moved into a flat together in May and are bother 18 DD had a job in a factory and boyfriend worked as a mechanic doing an apprentaship full time he also recieves DLA
They applied for WTC back in May and still havnt recieved anything DD phones uptwice a week to be told its still in processing
Last week DD lost her job due to the factory relocating 60 miles away and the garage that her boyfriend works at has gone bust
Phoned WTC to let them know of the changes and they said they will sort it out phoned this morning to be told the claim is still in processing and they arnt entitled to any back money that is owing them from the time they were working
I think this decision is wrong does anyone know if there is anyone higher up the chain she can speak to about this
Although there trying to get another job they arnt aloud to claim any benefits till WTC sort the claim out
Does anyone know of any help they can get as they dont have any money to live on
Sorry for the long rant but any good advice would be appreciated

Are either of them disabled or do they have children?
If not they will have their claim rejected. Unless either of the above apply they need to be 25 yrs old to claim WTC.0 -

The bf receives DLA.Gone ... or have I?0 -
The claim SHOULD be backdated to when they were working as long as they worked for a period of 4 weeks or more.
The change of work details wont be processed until after the initial claim has processed.
Get them to cal up again - if nobody has sent an escalation they should request to speak to a manager to make a complaint. Dont let them take no for an answer.0 -
Thanks dmg, I read that 3 times before I noticed!0

Thanx for the replys rang them this morning and tried very hard to speak to someone higher up than the people who answer the phone
I got told theres nothing that can be done while its still in processing after about a 10 minute rant about how we are we expected to live with no money when they are with holding money thats rightfully ours
She said shed have to end the phone call as nothing more could be done and proceeded to put the phone down on me
Does anyone know what steps they should be taking next to try and sort this mess out0 -
DD still hasnt had any money or contact from WTC does anyone have any good advice as to what they can do
Many thanks0
