Dishonest buyers

I recently sold something on Ebay and described it as mint (which it was). However, the buyer wrote and said there was damage - I asked them to send it back and when I received it, the damage is so obvious I am sure I would have noticed.
I have refunded the buyer in full, but on checking their feedback there are a couple of comments from sellers apologising for damage. I think the buyer swapped my item for a damaged one and sent me that one back.
Has anyone else come across this problem ?

yep, thats why i hate paypal. and thats why i'll take lots of photos, even if i only list one of them, the one buyer that tried it on with me (an old spectrum 48k) I told them to get stuffed and blocked them from biddingmoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

It wouldn't hurt to keep a record of the serial number(if any) of the item.

Thanks, but the main problem I have is with china, so there isn't a serial number. Someone did suggest marking with an ultraviolet pen, so I may give that a go.You're only young once, but you can be immature forever
