Asking this on behalf of my nephew and I am totally clueless on xboxes:
My niece has a desktop and broadband modem in her room (not wireless)
My nephew has an xbox that he wants to use live. He has purchased a router and an adaptor to go into his xbox.
I text my sister-in-law tonight to see if he was all set up and he isn't - she just said it's not working.
Can anyone advise on the correct set-up so that I can advise them on how to get set-up please - does the desktop have to be on in order for it to work - is the fact that she is running on a wired modem and he is using a wireless adaptor complicating things?
If anyone has experience in setting up this kind of set up, I would be very grateful for any input as I would like to pop round tomorrow and try and get it working for him but am clueless as to where to start on this one!!
Thank you.

Like Loaner says, we need more information
Ideally the EXACT make and model of router would help more than anything:idea:0 -
Thanks for replies, thought I would be able to tell you now the router but I can't as it was £69.99 from Argos and there are various Belkin and Netgear ones on there for that price!.
I will ask her tomorrow what model it is and ask what they did to try and set it up.
