Thankyou for your reply....remember there are so many out there in so much despair. I hope that when you are through this that you will be around to support others` in the same boat. There is so much reward from sharing your experience that will bring/save (strong word!) other people.
Your life isn`t `over` at all!! It is just that you need to move it on & get over this episode & if you feel more support is needed then get along to the Docs & get something to relieve the emotional ups&downs...unfortunately that `empty` feeling is what we all get & is quite normal. We have all strived to get the best for our families & when it does`nt quite work out then its hard to deal with.
I know you have lost 2 very dear friends today(I have dogs & lost a few over the years & its heartbreaking but you have to smile & remember the good times)...but see the positive they have lead you to so many more new ones on here.
We are all all here for you & ask away as there will always be an answer.

I'm contemplating a few Chinese dwarf hamsters at the mo (yes I know I'm skint don't waste any more money), I have an absolute shed load of sawdust and hay
but could do with some noise at night. Being on your own isn't good. 0 -

I really feel for you, on top of everything else to come home to that tonight must feel like everything is against you.
If your wife is worried about the stigma surely she will be more worried about the debts that will fall to her, as they will chase her to pay up. I know you want to do the right thing, but the right thing maybe for your wife to realise she needs to go bankrupt as well. I am not trying to be hard or judge here, but trying to be realistic with what you have told us.
Surely your kids will be worse off if your wife has to pay the debts? and lying does not seem like the best thing to do, and I am not sure an OR would accept that as an excuse, I think they will see it that she signed for these loans with you, she is an adult and could have said no to them being in her name.
I am sorry about your current employment position and hope things improve on that front for you.
Keep your chin up and get the advice on Wednesday I am sure you will feel better once you have phoned one of the charity debt lines.
Are you already in an IVA? as that will need to fail before you can file for BR I think.
You mention a house, is that in joint names on a mortgage? Some Days are Diamonds Some Days are Stones,Sometimes the hard times won't leave meBSC 162:beer:Banktupt 22 Oct 2008 at 10am!0 -

They are tiny hamsters
thanks for the names though
I'll post a picture of me wasting £7 on a pair (hopefully not a male and female as I don't want lots of 'chairmans' and 'maos') 0 -

House is in joint names I have to get an estate agent (or two) round for a valuation although in the current climate (and the way things are going at the moment) it's bound to end up in negative equity, how does that work btw in BR ??? Perversely I can currently afford to pay everything (although not the arrears) The bank have said that as long as this months payment is made they will capitalise the arrears on the mortgage as well, so that will move from a default basis, and oh !!!! it's nearly midnight and I have to be up at 4:300 -

hi cgw,
i am in sort of the same situation as you with a joint loan and seperation,i had an appointment with cccs and they advised me to go BC,but it would mean joint loan going to the ex to pay so at the time i just couldn't give her that debt to pay.
After asking about on this site i started to relise that my only real option was bc.
I told ex didn't have a choice, and made another appointment with cccs to go for bc.
Now she has had an appointment with cab,she now has agreed with bc.
Life can only get better...0
