Prague passport query.

Now Prague is in the EU do I still need 6 months on my passport to travel there, as I will only have 3 months left when I go in January.
I have looked at the embassy web site but I am still a bit confused.
As I am the lead passenger on a girls trip (mature ladies more like), I dont want to be caught out.
Many thanks.
Josey

Apply for a new one now regardless of if its required for Prague, you will save £9 if you get the application sorted before Dec 1st.

Also they put any unused months onto the new one so you won't loose anything. (minimum of 1 month max of 9 months transfered)
  • The only thing with that is I am holding out for the new Biometric one next summer as I travel to the USA quite a lot.

So still awaiting the actual answer please as if I need 6 months I shall renew before Dec 1st.

Only passports issued after October next year have to be biometric in order to qualify for the VWP.

Hello, just to let you know, the only people that can advise you are their Embassy, or maybe your travel agent, the Passport Office cannot advise you - hope this helps

I travelled to Prague this June. The Custom Staff was very nice. Smiling...and just took a quick look of my passport (less than 3 seconds), then returned me. I have to say that I never have so good experience. Because I am chinese, holding portuguese passport and living in England. So I always have problem with the custom. And as Czech now joined the EU. I believe your passport will do the trip. But it is hard to say if you can get the Biometric passport next summer though.
