lost dvd box set - the series

Lost the Complete Series is only available on region 1 at the moment. It was originally released back in September when the UK were only just starting the series.
If you buy the UK set you will only be getting half the series. The other half will be released in Feb 2006 when Lost has finished its run on Channel 4. So all in all, rip-off Britain boxset will cost you £50 or thereabouts.
You can buy the R2 version of Lost from DVDImport (23rd Nov 2005) but note, this is the French version and will have French writing on the cover etc but it has English audio, so if this doesn't bother you then that is your best bet for the entire series in R2. Obviously if you have a multi-regional DVD player and compatible television then go for R1.
When ordering from DVDImport in the past it usually varies between 2 weeks for items in stock to arrive, but if they are out of stock I have had orders that have been held for up to 3 months. You also need to log into your account to check that your item has been dispatched or not as they don't send you any e-mails telling you.
I would say go with CDWow, grab a voucher from the voucher board, they are fast, delivery is always 2 working days after they have sent me a dispatch e-mail and you don't have to worry about customs. Especially with Christmas coming up, if you need it for a present I would definitely go with CDWow. As an example I ordered the One Tree Hill boxset from DVD Import on 29th Oct, it was dispatched on 1st Nov and arrived today.0 -
what about the ones selling on ebay - are they copies or fakes? anyone know if they are genuine and worth buying please? thanks0

Be careful with eBay, the majority of DVDs sold on there tend to be fake/pirated copies. Make sure you check out the seller’s feedback properly and look at the picture to see if there are any chinese/foreign characters on the front of the cover and read the entire listing. Some sellers are really sneaky and will hide in the text that they are selling ‘Asian collector’s edition’ and list it as a genuine DVD.
Personally unless the seller has 100% fb and has written somewhere in the listing that the item is 100% genuine US release (for the entire boxset) then I wouldn’t bother. Also, if the boxset does turn out to be a fake then more than likely you won’t get your money back, even with Paypal there are no guarantees. And what happens if the item gets lost in the post? (no pun intended lol) There are too many sellers nowadays who refuse to take responsibility and will not refund you. Sadly, for the genuine DVD sellers on eBay, all the pirated copies that are currently being sold deters buyers from buying from them. Also beware of high P&P, hidden insurance charges and beware of low ‘buy it now’ prices, often this is an indication that you are about to buy a fake.
