What do you think?

Hi

I have a 2 bed first floor flat. I have been quoted £3300 (plus vat) for a new potterton boiler (not combi), new cold and hot water tanks (currently one is inside the other), new cylinder? (thing with furry insulation around it) and new radiator themostats for 7 rads.
The price includes electrical work to wire up new boiler and also flushing out of system.

I was told that since my pipework is 40 years old, and I have concrete floors which cover the pipework, that the pressure of a new combi boiler might cause future leaks and an expensive pipework job.

I would appreciate people's thoughts on this quote. I live in South London.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will comment, but we recently swapped to a combi on an old system without any problems. We were advised that the rad valves may be the areas which leaked, but they were fine.
