Urgent Help Please

Hi,

I hope someone out there can help us.

My husbands business no is with BT

Today when I try to ring the number from my virgin home phone it says number not recognised.

I can get through on my 3 mobile, although for some time it was saying number not recognised.

We can get through on a tiscali land line

We can get through on one orange mobile but not another.

I have also tried to call another business unit in the same block and am getting number not recognised for that too, but again can get through on my 3 mobile.

BT say there is nothing wrong with the line and it must be the other providers who also say everything is fine.

We don't know what to do or where to go from here, nobody is interested and my husband's business is 24 hour and he can't afford to loose business by missing calls.

I know it's a long shot but does anyone have any ideas,

Sorry for the long ramble, we are just totally baffled.

Thanks for reading

  • First of all, can your husband make calls from work?

If he has more than one line at work, try dialling one line from the other and visa versa.

If this works then there is no problem with the BT side of the line and problem must be with the other ways that you have tried.

Go to bt.com and try a line test through there fault report system.

I am an engineer for BT and given the fault description that is in your posting I would say there is nothing wrong with the lines.

If you are really concerned about missing calls then try diverting incoming calls to another number. This facility is normally available on most business lines.

    I hope this helps.
