NUS and ISIC cards

Hi,

I have just applied online for my NUS card :j but I have a query. If say I go to Alton Towers/cinema etc with someone who does not hold a card, will I get discount for them if I pay or will I only get a discount for the student in reciept of the card and charge the full price to everyone else?

Also, has anyone bough the NISIC card, how good is this? I do go abroad yearly but is it accepted alot abroad or is it about hit and miss? Will I get a discount on flights/hotels from popluar airlines or travel companies?

Thanks

Sarah

I've got an ISIC card. I bought one so I could get cheap BA and Air France air fares from STA Travel, but it does work as a student card in HMV, Subway, Topshop/man, Game, Nightclubs etc... I've been on a gap year so it worked great at getting student deals until I start Uni next week. I don't think it's ever been declined so I may just keep it instead of getting an NUS extra card, I think they both cost the same but you can't get the BA 'Blue Fares' with an NUS.

It was accepted for student deals in some places in Thailand and in USA/Canada for student train fares and student prices at museums and attractions.
  • Dont worry, the NUS extra card is also an ISIC Card, they have details on their site as to how you use it.
  • OOOPS!! Just discovered its not anymore! Thats a pain!!!!!

However if you want an ISIC the NUS extra gives you a discount so its £6 as opposed to £9.

    Grrr!!
