New fee - Dormancy fee!

Received new Abbey terms and conditions from 6 October 08, they include

'We may charge you a dormancy fee if you do not use your card for 6 months'

They propose £10 for this fee, so is that £20 a year?

I shall close my Abbey card account, in that case (assuming they can manage to close it.) Knowing Abbey, they'll probably close down someone else's.

Well if you don't use the card for 1 year, then you could end up paying £20 in dormancy fee, but just make a single purchase every few months or so and you will not be charged.

I was also annoyed to see this new charge introduced but have decided to keep Abbey Zero as a card for overseas use because it does not charge commission on foreign currency transactions and it is useful to have more than one card available when you are out of the country.

Just been turned down for the Abbey card when I have excellent credit and never been refused anything before :mad: wanted it for our trip to New York at Xmas and possibly to pay for some stuff in NY in advance over the internet. Wonder why they have refused? Only have two credit cards that are payed of each month in full and no debt
