I hope you didn't do it Stavros?I know its not been a good day all round today in the banking sector (stating the bleeding obvious), Bradford and bingley down 15% to 31.5p a share. Their 52 wk high was at £3.28 some while back.Would anyone advise to buy a few thousand at this low price or do you feel there is still some way to go with this B.S.?0 -
Thank God I didn't buy any. Northern Rock cost me 7k.
StebizAsk me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
So what happens now......
Share price is suspended at 20p....
Do shareholders get anything, now or in the future??0 -
Depends I suppose on what value Santandar put on the B & B. Although I'm not a shareholder I think its a bloody scandal that they raised millions in a rights issue at 55p I think it was to keep the company going and all those loyal customers end up with nowt.Liquidity is when you look at your investment portfolio and **** your pants0

"Shareholders now have to hold fire and wait for a Treasury appointed independent 'valuer' to decide how much, if any, compensation they might receive."

I was one of the 18% who took up the rights and sent the cheque off. I do feel a little cheated I suppose, but that is the gamble I took...
I did think raising 400million with a 50 million charge for the issue was silly and not enough, but anyway, live and learn....
With the sale of the savings arm, and the eventual profit the govenment will make when things return to normal and the debts get paid, the shares are worth much much more than the 20p they are sitting at..0 -
All you can do is hold and give the kids the certs. Thy might get something..lol0
