Add/remove programs oddity

Hi all

A mate of mine has a laptop and went into Add/remove programs to remove a few unused bits and pieces.
Unfortunately, he could only see anything beginning with A, the rest appeared to be there (there was a slider bar on the right) but they must have all been white text.

Anyone any ideas?

I think he tried that and nothing happened.

  • Does he have AutoCAD installed? Sounds similar to a problem we have.
AutoCAD causes a glitch in the registry which puts a hu-u-uge gap in the add/remove programs window. The remainder of the programs appear right at the bottom of the list.

It's fixable by editing the registry, I'd have to try to dig up the details if CAD was the problem.

I think he does -I'll check and find out.
There are no other programs listed though - I've been right to the bottom of the list using the slider bar and "Page Down" button.

I'll pass that on - be nice to know what's happened, though.
