Get yourself a Netgear DG834G. Amazon are doing them with a
FREE USB adapter at the moment which would be useful if you need one for your desktop. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000TZ8Z8/qid=1132574953/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/026-9807361-5678827

IMHO you don't need the 108mbps unless you intend to do lots of file sharing across your home network.

I have this one, dead easy to set up and it's been great.

I'm intending on packing away the desktop fro now. But if we move house in the future I would set it up again.

Just wondering now if it is worth going the amazon route rather than PC world. Prices are the same but I would get the usb free (even if I don't require it right away). Would the USB be instead of a PC wireless card?

Obviously PC World would be quicker as I can pick it up.

If belkin pre n is the best where can I get it cheapest? Do I need a laptop card to go with it. I have an intel centrino wifi 802.11g inside laptop.

You could use the USB adapter instead of buying a PCI card if you wished either that or Ebay it as "new" and make a saving on the cost of the router. I sold one, didn't need it, and got a good price.
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

No you don't need a laptop card. The inbuilt wifi replace the need for a card. What you may need to do (if you pack away your desktop system first) when you get your router is temporarily connect it via a network cable to set everything up. You will then be able to disconnect the cable and use the laptop wirelessly.
