M&S Branch refusing £10 Meal Deal

Hi All,
I called in to the M&S at Liverpool Street Station on Saturday on my way home, hoping to get the £10 meal deal.
There were no posters in store, but I looked at the shelves, and some items were labelled "Dine in for 2 for £10", so I thought "great"!
I picked a main, a side, a wine, but couldn't find any Desserts.
I then asked one of the staff, who said "oh, we aren't doing that offer".
I asked her about the items labelled up, and she said "yes, we were sent those labels so we used them".
I was very disappointed.
Whilst I can understand a branch NOT doing the offer (although it does seem a bit strange), I am quite cross that all the shelf labels said that they were.
Any comments anyone?
Cheers,
Karen

I would imagine (though I'm not sure) that it is because it is a station shop, and they don't tend to carry all the offers. It does seem silly to put the labels on the items though! xGone ... or have I?0

i'd be cross enought to write to head office, its misleading to say the least.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Almost unheard of for a station branch to carry the mainline offers.0

Unfortunately excluded from the offer:
Offer runs from Thursday 11th September until Sunday 14th September 2008. The offer excludes M&S Simply Food BP Connect stores, M&S stores in railways, service stations, airports or overseas. It also excludes M&S Café, Restaurant, Kitchen, Deli Bar & Hot Food To Go. Offer is subject to availability.0 -
head around the corner theres a massive M&S in moorgate with a good size food hall. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Even so - poor customer service advertising something they aren't offering - the store shouldn't have used the labels IMHO
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!0 -
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Couldn't you have just asked a member of staff about the deal if you weren't sure and there were no posters?
At my local M&S food, I wasn't sure which items I could have, so asked, and a nice lady talked me through the whole thing, and pointed out that it's subject to availability, and if I come earlier in future, I'd get much more choice!
If there were no deserts left, you wouldn't have been able to have the deal anyway.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Our local M & S at the station had the offers on and when they ran out offered us a £5 voucher. SO maybe it is also managers discretion?0

Vote with yer feet, if the price aint right, do a flight. Simple!0
