Gotta appointment at MK college tomorrow for a £3 hair cut. will let you know how it goes - how long it takes etc when I get back.
They can't help me for a full leg wax (I have a skin problem that's contra indicated) but can have bikini wax - woo hoo! will maybe look at that when I take up swiming again AFTER my op (aiming for two days before kids break up for Easter hols)just in case you need to know:

Arcana Hair and Beauty in Shenley Brook End are really reasonable and they also do £5 cuts by 2nd year students (incl wash and blow dry I think)
its the friendliest salon I've ever been in. Can't remember the phone no. but it will be in the book.
My daughter and I had our hair cut last week, takes a bit longer, but it was very good.
And you get a really good cup of coffee/tea.0 -

Good luck hunting for curry, sorry I'm probably too late for tonight!

You could also try http://www.onionbhaji.co.uk.
Unlike the MKCurry website, they don't announce where they're going before they arrive so don't get any special treatment.
In Stony Stratford, Indigo is by far the best curry house (just forget about all teh environmental health problems they had when it was Darjeeling!).0 -
A bargain meal can be had at Milton Keynes catering college in Bletchley - £14.95 for 3 course meal with coffee/tea, prepared and served by students/tutors in excellent style. Open lunch (cheaper) and dinnerTuesdays,Wednesdays, Thursdays.
The Bridge Inn at Fenny Stratford also serves excellent food (owned by ex-college lecturer).0 -

Hi all. Long time lurker, first time poster. Didn't kow this MK biased forum existed until today.
Anyway, my better half and I are looking to get married next year and have followed many of the tips in the money-saving wedding threads. The one area we're struggling in is the photographer. Can't for the life of me justify paying someone £1000 for what amounts to about 8 hours work and an album with about 40 piccys. I know they have overheads, insurance etc...but surely there's a chepaer way??
Having read through some of this forum I wonder if MK College would do a similar thing to the catering / beautician thing they do and offer out photgraphy students at reduced rates?
Any ideas?
Many thanks0
