Welfare Move - Please Help

Hello everyone, Its a while since I've been on MSE, hope you'll all still help!!

We are trying to get a move for welfare reasons, quarter is not fit - have had ongoing problems for 15 months.

OC PMS has been really helpful and has today told me that move should go ahead and I am waiting to see if we will be allocated the quarter we have asked for, have already been told our first choice was already allocated.

I have been told that we will be entitled to removals but that the Station Commander might overule disturbance allowance because it comes from the station budget and there have already been a lot of welfare moves!

I've looked at JSP 752 (chapter 7 sec 1, if you're interested) and that seems to say we are entitled as it is a mid assignment move on welfare grounds, let's face it we are going to have to pay all the same things regardless of the distance of the move, ie sky installations, post redirection, insurance admin fees etc.

So does anyone know if this can happen - or is JSP the ultimate bible that can not be overuled ?

I would be staggered if some jumped up hitler could overrule the payment because he has already paid out on loads before!!

If it's due, claim it and let the jack boot wearing Station Commander worry about it.

I would also apply on JPA, if they have said you are entitled to removals at public expense then I would also expect you to be eligible for disturbance allowance but at a lower rate. We have claimed this before when moving to larger qtr due to pregnancy.

Claim it every little helps

Yep, I think we'll have to put a claim in.
I've now been told that a case will have to be made to JPAC to get anything.
Sounds all a bit odd to me - Surely you're entitled or you're not!!

We just don't want to end up out of pocket for something that is not our fault!

I am a military clerk in the army, the JSP is the bible, if you apply to it on JPA it is automatic and someone in PMS or your line manager authorise it and it does not come off the stations budget it comes of the armed forces budget.
