Hi,
i am writing this for my mother.
right, she was working part time and recieving working and child tax credits, due to a change in circumstances she could no longer work and went on to income support in march 08, this was topped up with Child tax credit.
when the new tax year started and she recieved her renewel form for tax credits she filled it in and sent it off.
since then she has not recieved any tax credits, they said the form was never recieved. she is ringing the tax people everyday and they promise that the money will be in her bank every thursday which it isnt.
all they needed to do was to confirm that she was on IS which is on there system.
she contacted her local mp who is trying to sort it out while ahe has gone overdrawn, had charges added and is now in arrears with her rent.
finally she was told today that she will be recieving her Tax credits every thursday but they will not give her a one off backdated payment but instead they are adding £6 to each weeks payment until the due money is paid.
can they do this as it was there fault to begin with and she is still behind with rent ect
thanks and sorry for long thread.
