Investments to pay school fees?

I'm new to the site but wanted to know if anyone had any good ideas for investing a lump sum say 100k to help pay school fees with the return?

    We couldn't start to answer this question without knowing:

    1) How many children
    2) The ages you want to pay fees (timescale is critical regarding investment choice)
    3) The anticipated cost of the fees
    4) Your other savings/investments
    5) Your employment situation and whether you will partly pay the fees
    6) Whether there will be any help from grandparents or other relatives.
    7) Your attitude to risk.
    8) Other stuff I've forgotten but which dunstonh will fill in

    9) tax postition now and tax when money is needed?
    10) what type of investments do you want to use and how would you buy them?
    11) what is your knowledge and experience of investing?
