It's basically an auto, but may have a manual override for gear selection. Hi,
Ford do somewhat confuse thing with the term Durashift as there is:
Durashift - A full blown auto (with torque converter) which can be driven in a 'manual' mode.
Durashift CVT (now deleted from the entire Ford UK range) - A Constantly Variable Transmission Automatic
and
Durashift EST - (Electronic Shift Transmission) - an 'advanced manual' as they call it. It is really a manual gearbox with an electronic clutch which can also be driven in automatic mode.
However they now have as well:
Powershift - a 'twin clutch' semi automatic similar to VW's DSG (Direct Shift Technology).
