First of all I thought this was the best place to post it ,sorry if I was wrong.
The deal I negotiated only stays open until the end of the day.
Is this a good deal?
If not where can I get a better deal?

In my Opinion it seems pretty good,
Good amount of Ram
Large HD Capacity
Nice Graphics card, which will work well with the ASUS board.
Plenty of USB ports (cant have too many) and very accessable.
Good board (Ive always found ASUS to be the most reliable.
One thing are you going to hard wire it to your router for internet access? I ask because I cant see any wireless technology. But you can get a half decent wirless dongle for 20 or 30 quid.
Also has the case got enough cooling fans? you really want an intake at the front cooling accross the MB and extraction at the rear of the case and one on the side wouldnt hurt either."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

That depends entirely on what the computer is to be used for. I personally don't think it's that good a deal.Bought, not Brought0 -

Its a good alround graphics card, I make the assumption the OP isnt a 3d graphics designer working on a new Halo 4 engine

The board has upgradeability (8gig ram ect) Nice board.
Now I dont mean to be rude but I see throw away comments like this all the time, instead of saying you "disagree" and "its not worth it" show something better for that price and state reasons. Otherwise I just see it as trolling."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

Well I have a self build I did nearly 3 years ago (for nearly a £1000)
Its got an Asus motherboard
Its got a Nvidia Graphics Card
Its got a SATA 250gig HardDrive.
I just recently upgraded the Memory from 1gig to 2 gig (it supports 4gig).
The machine is used everyday for at least 12 hours, and is still going strong and hasnt given me a minutes trouble.
If you look after it, it will last. Keep the insides as clean as you can (dust is the main killer for your components). Make sure you have plenty of space around the Case for air flow.
It looks like it will be ok for cooling, it also like the rest of the components has upgradeability (plenty of space for cooling fans)."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

If you want a comparison
look here at the machine with the same chip, it has a better Graphic card (which you said wasnt important as you dont do gaming). Has half the RAM of yours. and doesnt have the extra TV card/Card reader, and no operating system!!

£630. (£700 with Vista home)"Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

yup agree with shadow it seems a decent PC -
If you have the time to trawl through lists then you can compare part for part to get a good idea
Personally I tend to buy all my hardware for building PCs from a local shop
cclonline I also usually budget for an OEM operating system disk -
Dont froget though that those prices at CCL are for a self build - with the PC already built then that will cost a bit too .Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -
Looks ok to me....as long as you dont expect to do high level stuff....
You have to remember though that even though it has 8GB of RAM you will be running Vista 64 bit OS. Vista works best with 2GB of RAM....64 bit OS means you double or more your memory addressing...soo 8GB is problerly about right for Vista 64...i know some people that recommands running 16GB of RAM for 64bit OS's.
Graphics card looks good and the Asus boards are some of the best really...very good units.0 -

I used to buy mine from there when I lived in good old Bradford.
